Shazam is the easiest way to identify Music & TV shows

Shazam is a amazing mobile app that lets you identify music and TV Shows. It can easily recognize track/show from your TV, Radio or any other device. If you're in a club and surrounding is too noisy, no problem for Shazam, it still can fetch the track information for you. To identify a music all you need to do is tap on Shazam icon and it will use your device's microphone to listen the music for about 10 seconds and then it will search for the match in its database. Once the track is found, it will show you Title, Artist, Album,Genre, Album art,  Youtube link, and Discography of the artist, you can also purchase the track through iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. One can easily share discoveries on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+.

Although we have app like musiXmatch which can perform the same job as Shazam, but the reliability and speed of Shazam are much better and it won't be wrong to say it's the best. Shazam offers 2 types of applications; Shazam(Free) and Shazam Encore(Paid). The basic difference among them is, free version is supported by ads, however, encore shows no ads and you can have unlimited tags(in case number of tags are limited, depending on the OS). It is available for almost every operating system, you can download it on your  Apple iPhone iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry OS, MAC and PC(win 8.1) .

As shazam identifies songs by "listening" to the music/TV being played, it uses audio fingerprints based on time-frequency graphs called spectrograms to search the music. Shazam stores a catalogue of audio fingerprints in a database. When user tags a track for 10 seconds and the app creates an audio fingerprint, after that it starts matching what it hears with a vast database collection of songs and TV show information. If there is a match, it returns the information to the user; otherwise it returns a "song not known" dialogue. Shazam can identify tracks with no lyrics at all, which means you can identify any remix, movie soundtrack, etc., it can even tell the difference between two songs performed by different artists singing the same lyrics.
